New Story, New Characters

These character sketches are for a new story that has joined the ranks of my many other and very needy writings. I always feel the need to draw the characters after spending a good chunk of time on a story, even if I don’t intend to turn it into a comic. Usually though I do intend it to be a comic, and this one is no exception.

There’s a bit of digital coloring in the sketch to show my basic ideas for the characters’ color palletes.

My sporratic notes are most likely illegible, so I’ll say here that the girl on the far left is the main character, the creep lady beside her is her mother, the guy at the bottom is her father around the time she was born, and the lady at the top was her old nanny. Yes, the mother and daughter are supposed to look as utterly different as possible while still having genetically similar traits. And no, I’m not quite there yet.

I have two other sketches which may or may not appear in color.

Zoggy Zariel is an awesome sketch (zketch?) and I agree, better in black and white. looks like all that comic art has increased your skills in sketching.
